Located on the original Erie Canal, this historic preservation site is an active archaeological project. A three-bay dry dock where canal boats were built and repaired has been excavated and fitted with reconstructed mitre and drop gates. An on-site interpretive center and library provide a hands on experience. Come and see us reconstruct a canal boat as it would have been built in the 19th century. Enjoy our picnic area, the restored saw mill and blacksmith shop. Please visit our gift shop on your way out. Open May through October.
